Content Management & Translation

So what’s in it for me?

A key factor in a successful community is “listening” to the users to understand the value  to them of that community (often referred to as the “WIIFM” = What’s In It For Me). Community content needs to be drawn directly from the needs, wants, and pain points of the community audience.

If your users and customers can’t figure out the “WIIFM” in the first visit to your online community you’re already at a big disadvantage. Content = value and people want value.

Content needs to reflect the “voice” of the community: to be driven by the cultural and social norms of the community and its users as well as the language, tone, and style of interaction.

One of the common mistakes organizations make in seeding their community with content is forgetting to involve the community itself in the process.  Content needs to reflect the specific objectives of the community at a given point in time.  It should fuel interactions, inspire insights that help users solve the problems or find the value that brought them to the community in the first place.

This is where having the know-how to identify the content needs and then best present the information becomes critical.    At Beyond Social we will work with you to better understand what type of content your audience responds to best, and then develop the content and organize the key information sources that can turn your community into a rich resource of value for your organization.

While content that is generated from a community’s own members will be the most important, content which the community manager provides can also play a vital role. We’ll coach you on how to use content to on-board, grow, and sustain a robust community by determining which content will strengthen relationships, encourage peers to connect with each other, and signal what the community (and the WIIFM) is all about.

Speaking of language …

Parlez-vous français?
Sprechen Sie Deutsch?
Habla Usted Español?

In the increasingly global business environment, the ability to “connect” with users and customers in their own language can make a big difference in reach and engagement.

The team at Beyond Social can help you with content translation in four languages:

  • French
  • German
  • Spanish
  • English

Content can be the glue that binds when it comes to online community success, and we can help ensure it’s strategically aligned to the goals of your organization as well as the wants and needs voiced by the community itself.
